What size socket does the output flange nut that is recessed in the parking brake drum require and what is it torqued to? Gracias!

I believe it is a 30 mil, and just make it tight. Not sure about the exact torque spec, but I would aim for around 90-100 flbs. It has a positive seat, so you will not damage anything but going over spec.

Why is the bearing sloppy?

yup 30MM. when you pull it out there's a fat cotton washer behind the big metal washer; might be a good idea to replace if you're pulling it all apart. not sure of the p/n.

I've got rear driveline vibes(driveshaft is in good shape and angles match) and gearoil leaking profusely from that area. Hopefully it is just a loose nut, but as things go probably not.

The loose nut is behind the steering wheel.

On the rear, tightening the nut will likely help. The front is where you need to watch out. Especially if it seems you cannot get the flange to sit tight. The front output shaft is very short, and sit on a C clipped bearing at the nose. The other end of the shaft rides in the center diff. The casing for the front shaft bearing sometimes cracks, and leads to a terminal loose front drive flange. The only way to repair this is to replace the nose housing.

Torque is 162 Nm on the 30mm bolt. That sucker is on there tight, but will come off in no time with an impact. You can brace a breaker bar between the driveshaft bolts. Be careful with the bolt threads.

Not sure, I just tighted it and cleaned everything up this weekend. It was maybe 1/8th of a turn loose so I imagine I'll be investigating further after the rally, but will just top it up for now. I'll post up when I get into it, any other suggestions are helpful.
