My buddy is looking at getting a 9" for his Jeep. It is just under 62" wide, 5 on 4.5", drums, and the guy says it has a "posi" in it. Since "posi" is a GM term for limited slip. How does this translate in to the world of the blue oval??

probably a trac-loc, which is a standard clutch plate style limited slip

Is it a good unit or should he yank it and get a spool? I have heard trac-loc referred to as trash-loc in the jeep community.

I know some of the newer rangers have Torsen's but if they ever used those in a 9"

That's where mine went!! Piece of crap. Worked great until I put 35"s on it, and got that whole "Gas pedal" thing figured out. :D:D
