What is this port for on the top of my D60?

The smaller hole is tapped for a bolt and the larger hole is not. I thought maybe it was for the breather, but there is a breather port on the axle housing. This port looks like it usedto have some sort of cover on it.

Nope, no toothed ring but that still could be what it is. This is out of a mid 90s dodge.

I had a Dodge 70 with the exact hole, but it had the tone ring around the carrier. I bet they used the same housing whether or not ABS was actually used. Just plug the hole with a goober of RTV. :jeep2:
