Greetings from across the pond,
We are looking for a good, reliable, inexpensive supplier for used V8 and Diesel Rover engines here in the US. Can anyone recommend a good source? I tried contacting Turner but they are up around 2600 per stripped engine and that is just too much. We are open to and looking for any suggestions, thank you.

1. Why would you want to buy a used V8 when new is so inexpensive?
2. Equicar is good for the TDi but used TDi continues to be high dollar.
I highly doubt you can find a cheap reliable supply of TDis, there is such a domestic demand that the prices have remained in the 2000ukp range for a complete runner under 100k.
YMMV

First off, the supply of new short blocks has apparently dried up. When I needed one, even suppliers like Rovers North were out of stock until further notice. Used engines were bringing more than previously available new ones were (even EbAY). The truck for which I needed an engine was sold at auction at a terrible loss (but more than I was willing to pay).
At the Sodbury in April, TDis were bringing about 300 GBP and were VERY plentiful at that price. It seemed like everybody had one on a trailer. I even found a few in piles behind dealers lots (far more 2.25s though)
My mileage varied in both cases :flipoff2:

Hi Jasom
I have a V8 I need to move on if you are interested. I is out of my 96 disko that I sort of rolled over. I was thinking of doing a 100 inch hybrid with a Lightweight I have but I have since changed my mind. Better to sell it and put the $ into my Defender. Since you are in 905 we are not too far apart.

Because everybody (especially Pendy) knows I'm an idiot :flipoff2:
Got a 4.2 for me? Beth (Shopgrrl) needs an engine for her Rangie.

if you can figure a way to get it there from Canada, my 4.0 would look nice...

I have a 4.0 shortblock in the corner of the shop.
3.5? C'mawn. But, might need a spare for ShopBoy's truck :flipoff2:
If I EVER get the time, I've got a 3.9, but have to go pick it up. Over the weekend, three unexpected trucks arrived at the shop. Shop's full, lot's full and PT's back to not sleeping again.
