I bugged him all summer about that. As soon as I put mine back together, he releases it.

Who can EXPLAIN to me why this won't work on a '78 ScoutII D20??

Because most Scout Dana 20s already come with a 26-spline output shaft! :D

I don't think the rear outputs are that different between the SII and Bronco parts.. I have one of each disassembled (and stashed somewhere around here..) in the middle of my twin-stick 2.46:1 conversion that I started in.. ohhh.. June of '98... ;)

Maybe because the Scout/Jeep d20 is a completely different case than the Bronco d20

How do you know? I read through the page and did not see that it would not fit Scouts. Did I miss something?

jeep/scout shaft= the same!

The Bronco Shaft has a Recesse in it for some :rainbow: needle bearing

Well i can't find my pic, but the gear part has the reses, i don't think it needs its but ya never know
The jeep one uses a bears sone where else so it don't need the needle bearing the bronco's have

Yep, the rear output shaft has a counterbore in it on the EB 20. The input shaft rides in 13 rollers that are in the counter bore of the output shaft (sort of like how a manual tranny's mainshaft rides in the roller bearing (s) of the input shaft).

So that is why this new WH shaft won't work in the others.
