The LT230 went in this weekend and the results have been good. Thanks to everyone who have posted their experiences in the past.

A remaining issue is the handbrake. I have the Disco donor or my original off the BW. I have mounted the Disco one. It appeared to only line up with the cable at the bottom going off to the left. Is this correct? The donor backplate cable was cut about 2" away.

Should I just get a Disco handbrake cable and mounting hardware or will the BW cable/brake work? The mount point for the cable was the xfer case itself, so some kind of fabricated bracket would be necessary.

can you take a pict of the D1 cable end? if at all possible you want to stick with the disco setup - it's simpler and seems to engage a little better, IMO.

Use the Disco one, much easier. But JS Briggs posted pics of him using the BW drumbrake with LT 230.

Thanks guys. I'll take a pic tomorrow and post the current installed stuff. I paid the $10 bucks on www.landrovertechinfo.com and the Disco workshop manual has a vague image that doesn't help much as far as mounting goes.

Update: sorry about not posting a pic. I gave up on the digital camera.

Anyway, I got a new Disco brake cable (much shorter than the original RRC for the BW) and it hooked up perfectly with the bottom drivers side entrance to the back plate of the parking brake. The top end of the cable is exactly same as original so mounting is altogether "stock".
