i just tried calling you. 184k on an auto....unless you have receipts from a rebuild you might as well add 2500-3000 for a good tranny. those slush boxes dont last forever.

I drove it and it felt good. I figure if I offer him $10K plus $2500 for a upgraded tranny, i'm only in it for $12,500 - $13,000 on the truck...
still sounds good?

as long as that thing runs good and looks as good as it does in the pics, it is worth it. Recomend getting a tranny from a reputable after market builder (not factory or jasper) someone like suncoast ats, gorend etc that will build a tranny that will last Travis

That looks like a crazy deal!! I'd say JUMP ON IT!! I paid 14 for my 97 3500 4wd 5 speed, club cab, with 114k and a snow plow.

How do you like it? This one seemed a little gutless in stock form :)
Same truck minus the 5-speed.
Talked to the guy this afternoon. $11K out the door. Tax, licence, all that junk :D

Damn vova, that seems like a deal. If you dont get it, send me the info and I may take a look at it.

And the 97 I looked at was damn gutless too. My 5.2l with 33" and 3.55 gears would whoop it off the line.

With how much weight behind it?

FWIW I have a 96 with 247K on it and it's an auto. No history on the tranny and I have put 10K plus on it already and it shifts good IMO. Changed the fluid/filter soon after I got it and will do so yearly as long as I own it.

That is a hell of a deal on that truck, I'd jump on it. My 2WD SRW wasn't all that much cheaper (3K) and has a lot more miles on it.

I like mine a lot. I had to do some work when I first got it (tabbed the KDP, front main seal, new lift pump), but other than that it's been great. I have a #11 TST plate in mine, 4" straight exhaust and a big air filter. It's not super fast or anything, but it can hold it's own.

Didn't work out. Had a friend check it out for me and it wasn't as clean as they told me over the phone. Workout out for the best... I sure would of liked the 5-speed :)

Unloaded vs unloaded. Towing with my 1500 is like driving with a blown motor mount, cracked spring pearch, and a beshed up driveshaft. I'd still take it over towing my my grandfathers 3/4 ton 454 powered chevy though.

If you dont mind me asking, where did you find this truck vova?

Saw it on Craigslist :)
