Im considering getting the craftsman pro one thats about $100. Im 1-2 years away from having the space and $$ to get a compressor that will push an air die grinder. So anybody own one? Worth the cash? Is the size of the thing a PITA?

I have a milwaukee that usually retails for around 200 bucks. I haven't tried it on cylinder heads, but for every other use it has been pure badass and is one of my favorite tools. It is rated for 4.5 amps, but under load has stalled my Honda 1000 watt generator rated for 7.5. Works great with cutting discs also.

100% agree with the milwaukee. They have huge power and you can get a good hold on them cuz of their size.

We choose electric over air powered ones for sheet metal since they dont grab easily.

I to have the Milwaukee. All I can say is WOW :smokin:
Put a burr bit in it and watch the metal melt away. Use a sanding flapwheel in it and you can polish steel really FAST.

The only thing i can say about it is wow. It is truly one of the better grinders on the market. I had to make a mock header for a pipe welding exercise and it polished the tubing up beautifully using a flapwheel. It put my dremel to shame.

I had the craftsman It worked fine for about a couple years until it took a dump on me, i over worked it a few times, it got too hot, toasted the bearings and literally blew up on me. I wouldn't pay $100 for another...maybe 40 or 50.

I ended up getting a new chicago pneumatic variable speed for $120 a few weeks ago and it works well, but my air tank can't keep up with how much air it uses.

I had the MW one and it was awesome. When I lost it I thought I'd try the craftsman one and it couldn't do shit. If I was really trying to get into something it would bog down
