well I do not know ,,, did not know there were 2 different ones. What part do I need to count the tooth on and I will.

The input gear. It bolts onto the output shaft of the transmission. While yer lookin', count the splines on the inside of this gear. It should be six or ten. Inquiring minds will want to know... What tranny was this bolted to? Do you still have said tranny?

the OD unit is a 29 tooth,6 spline.

it came off of a t90 tranny that was in a 60-something cj,behind a SBC,so not sure if the tranny and transfer case were the original items or not.i believe that they were,as this jeep had been in storage for 15+ years,and the chevy conversion was done long enuff ago it used a generator instead of an alternator ;)

also,there is no input gear to speak of,like on normal cases. the 29 teeth are on the outside of the OD. the unit itself is the input gear. there is a special nut and washer that hold the unit onto the tranny tailshaft.

the original tranny is loooooong gone,but there was nothing special about it. the OD will bolt to any 55-71 spicer 18,and any 6 spline tranny that the spicer 18 will bolt to.
