Hey, even I can go to Napa and fix that pinion seal for less than $10.
UPOVR 08-11-2004, 11:12 PM What are you talking about... That's Land Rover's Active Rust Prevention System (ARPS).
64rovr 08-11-2004, 11:17 PM FWIW thats an incredibly clean and rare truck, something I would like to have.
ISUZUROVER 08-12-2004, 03:11 AM I can't believe the crazy prices these things sell for in the US. In Australia you would pay about $4000AUD ($3000USD) for a truck like that.
dmarch 08-12-2004, 06:33 AM RJ, your links no workie.

FWIW, Vintage has a habit of lying, cheating and stealing in order to get business.
Dave sorry about the links...the Pirate one was just the search results for "Vintage Offroad" and the Ih8mud link was the same for that BBS.
One of my personal favorites (http://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=15792&highlight=vintage+offroad) Even though the first auction link is bad now, it was on the money then. It all just adds up to shady buisiness.

yup, they're around 3000 euro over here (3600 dollar :flipoff2: ). But aren't they legal to import when they're 25 years old? IIRC they started making them in '79, So you could find one for cheap overseas and import it yourselve.

Interesting reading. Funny how the Ebay add calls it a "Defender 110" when it is neither of those. Maybe you could email ebay and tell them it is incorrectly listed???

You can get a Stage 1 for $3600  I know a guy who sold his RHD Stage 1 for $16k (it used to be owned by Stanley Kubrick) We have one at the shop also but it is for alittle bit more :D

PTSchram 08-12-2004, 08:04 AM Makes me wonder what my 109 will bring when I finally list it. Mine is even LHD:flipoff2:
There is a frighteningly similar truck to the one listed in Kalamazoo. The owner calls me regularly as he states I'm the only realistic buyer he's found. Yeah right, he wants $11,500 :eek
Having finally gotten one home, I have personal knowledge of what it takes to bring one home.

Seriously Paul, Call him and ask if he's spoken with Greg Mushro...he's been known to list trucks before even taking delivery of them...many a buyer has actually gone to the "previous owner's" place to retreive the rigs...I'd imagine that is him...

Yes but from the pics it is obvious the Stage 1 is in a shed with a bunch of cruisers.

Yeah, I'm sure he actually has this one there, but it would be interesting to see if Pauls friend sold the truck to Greg....and to see what Greg is saying versus what the previous owner says.

The guy who has the truck I'm talking about is not a friend. The lady doctor who owned it previously was/is a friend of Shopgrrl's and mine.
The main problem is that he's asking almost four times what it costs to go to UK to buy and ship one home.
ISUZUROVER 08-16-2004, 08:30 AM Fortunately noone was stupid enough to buy it.
