using either EB or full width Ford axles. Very easy swap really. There's some pics of it done at Rockcrawler.com. Coda

I am doing it this spring (waiting for good weather so I can ride my bike to work).... the only guy I know of is ranger lee and he had it done by a shop and also swapped the rear axle (dana50) and put in an atlas II and a bunch of other goodies.

have you checked out RRORC (http://board.rrorc.com/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi) you can go there and search around on that board there is a lot of info on rangers there. You can also try The Ranger Station (http://www.therangerstation.com/) they have a bunch of info here to. Hope it all works out for ya.

Last time I checked neither one of those had much on 98+ rangers though, and especially axle swaps for em. I think bryan was considering one after his steering broke but I heard he didn't go thru with it.

I think you should email that ranger lee guy and ask for the phone number for the place that did his swap and then just call the place.

Or you can wait till april/may and I will have hella pics and write up of the swap :)

I was checking out the ranger that AggieCJ7 is talking about doing teh SAS on and the front driveshaft caught my attention.

Its sort of like a flange mount, but not really. I was afraid to take it apart cause it might not go back together. Anyone know if this is a standard ford mount? we're going to need to build a driveshaft with travel on it so that one has to go but it looks a little intimidating.

Yup, I believe some of the newer super duties have 'em (some have 60s, some 50s)

some of the superduty's do have 50's but they are just a front axle. that guy might have one of the TARA50R's
