14 bolt gear setup question. [Archive]

I have a 14 bolt FF rear that currently has 3.73 gears in it. I need to put a set of 4.10 in it. From what i can gather both the 4.10 and 3.73 gear sets have the same number of teeth on the ring gear. with the 4.10 and 3.73 pinions having 10 teeth and 11 teeth respectfully. My question is whether the ring gear is the same for both ratios? Could you just remove the pinion & carrier for the 3.73 gears and put the 4.10 pinion & carrier in its place. If not (which i dont think you can) does anyone have any direction for a detailed 14 bolt gear swap. Thanx

Ring and pinions are lapped together during the manufacturing process. They should never be swapped around. To do so would bring bad things :nuke:
