I saw some stick on white plastic stuff that goes between the leafs in a mag a while back and can't find it now, anyone know where to get it?

try street rod shops, they've been doing this for years.I did this to my old Ramcharger a few years back, a buddy got a hold of a roll of the plastic liner, and had a bunch left over. While you have your springs apart, you can also grind the ends of your leafs to a taper, and you can also use graphite paint between the leaves. It really did make a noticable differance, a smoother street ride, I couldn't really tell off-road, but I'm sure it did.

Why don't you just use teflon between the leaves?

I kind of take the low-tech route on this one.. I've found that PB Blaster squirted on the leafs every trip or two (depending on mud) keep my springs quiet and operating smoothly. The dowside to this is it kind of cakes into "grease" and if you're working uder your rig it will find it's way onto your arms.

They used UHDPE in strips. Mc Master Carr sells it as well as any industrial plastic supply house.

Blue Collar has it in block for and sometimes in sheets. The white is just fine but the gray stuff is the tuffer. It cuts just fine with sharp wood saw blades.

A small amount of anti-seize, between leafs where they make contact works pretty good. Drive a chisel between the leafs and smear some on:flipoff2:

It was 4WD & Sport Utility mag a few months ago. They also reference it on page 44 of the March 2002 issue (the one that just came out). They give a source as Plastic Sales Southern, 323-728-8309 for the cut-it-yourself sticky back version.
It's part of a larger article on how to get more flex, including stuff like the afore mentioned tapering of the leaf ends.
