Im going to drywall my shop and I wanted to get some feedback it's worth the extra expense to insulate the ceiling and walls.

The shop is about 1000 square feet with stick framed and stucco construction. I live in a mild climate on the central coast of California. We dont see extreme temperatures but I do use a gas furnace in the shop during parts of the winter (if you can call it winter).

Should I insulate or will drywall be adequate ? Thanks in advance

Besides acting as a thermal barrier, it'll act as a sound barrier. Just do it, you and you neighbors will all be happier for it. Then when you drywall, get high-abuse 5/8" it'll stand up to the riggors of garage life better (Use type X 5/8" for fire code on the ceiling)
