looking at doing something like the Croatia Trophy or Rainforest Challenge within the next few years, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any events like this stateside that I could participate in for experience? i know of the Team Trophy Challenge but for only a two-day event its an awful far drive from the northeast.

Why not organize somthing yourself. Start small with the guys you wheel with now. Work out the logistics, and have fun. Invite others the next time you do it. It will grow and evolve over time. That way it can be as competive or low key as you like.

Some of the 300TDI boys in my neck of the woods that did the Team Challenge want to setup an adventure race type thing around here in the next year or two.

I would like to eventually organize such an event in the snow. I figure all the little wussy americans will die winching at -30.

As long as I can camp outside in a tent, I'm up for it. Best camping trip ever was when it was -15 below. -30 below would just be that much better. :flipoff2:

I've got the use of 500 acres of private bushlot around my Dad's cottage, not exactly wicked for summer but in the winter it should be awesome fun. I'm thinking of what I would do as events. Obviously, just getting around is going to be hard and I was thinking that it should be more of a survival type thing.

I figure this winter it'll probably just be a trial run (not an actual race) just a few rigs checking out the terrain but next year I want to actually set something up. I am thinking sometime in March about 3 weeks after winter romp.

Right now I want a set of 44 cepeks...

Uwharrie is up in North Carolina. If I remember correctly I read about an event sponsored by a Florida rover club that is like what you are looking for.

that sounds good to me... 44 cepeks sound interesting but i think they may be a little hard on my rover based axles :flipoff2: i'll stick to my 36" swampers with tire chains instead.

of course, on this 85* 90% humidity day, all i can think about is wheeling in the snow!
