After we see it lets go here and tell them what a great idea it was to show that and how they should have more coverage of those events

not by much:flipoff2: it makes 4X4TV look great! I wished they would of showed the Mog that was on with the closing credits...and they kept cutting ahead after someone hung up...didn't get to see 'em get off.

It was ok, sure was hosted better and showed more action(unlike 4x4TV which takes half of the show talking and driving some SUV through the desert saying it is a good off-roader).

I did think it was kinda funny that the guy said the yellow blazer had stock drivetrain, but it was running 2.5 ton axles. Oh well, its good to see the sport getting some good coverage.

While the commentators didn't know shit about the vehicles or sport, they were a lot more exciting to listen to then that lame 4x4tv host. Just the fact that they showed more wheeling then they did studddddeeerrrinngg hosts was good. one thing, did you notice the guy said the blazer had a final drive of 30:1. i think he forgot it had a transfer case or something.
later,
bob

Saw it in the bar I was at last night. Everyone was asking me if that is what I did when I went wheeling. I said no. The rocks were too small. The tv was ok just too short of program. Looks like fun for the spectators, just no hills or dangerous drop offs for them to sit on...HA

I thought it was all right, but the announcers were WAY too excited, and a dirt field with a line of boulders just isn't very cool. On the other hand, it's one way to control the venue and the crowd, which is hard to do at the Hammers, Montrose, Florence Junction, even Cedar City.

By the way, the Skyjacker commercial is *really* lame, my wife and I were laughing!

I was watching it when my kids came in (7yr old girl and 4.5 yr old boy). Both asked what was on TV, and when I said rockcrawling - both replied "that's not rockcrawling, those rocks aren't big enough and there's no hills...." My son ran to the cabinet and grabbed one of the tapes I have of the Goodyear Championships and informed me that "this is REAL rockcrawling..."

Pretty sad with the poor comentators too - they were really clueless about the trucks, drivers, and the sport.

That ARCA competition on ESPN2 was l4me. Buncha rocks in the middle of a flat-ass fairground. Looked pretty easy. Most of the drivers they showed were corn-fed boys gunning their motors and spotting with their diffs. Yeesh. There was a cool V8-powered unimog with a custom buggy body and giant Michelin military tires. He won, and his winning run had him drive over the course without even pausing. The rock pile looked like a dead flat Big Sluice with marker flags.

Oh well.

What the hell do you expect??? I didnt get to catch it but my dad did. He is not at all into the rockcrawling thing but more into drag racing and finesse style races like F-1 and SCCA things. He loved it. I was glkad to see an outsider liking to watch it because it means other outsiders liked it too. More publicity more followers means more business and lower pricesd and all kinds of other goodies for us. The reactions while brutally critical ignore the fact at hand we finally got on TV and people who never had a clue now might go out and pick up a zuki or CJ and fire up the welder. Relax a bit and see it for what it is...

I am from Michigan and up here the only rock crawling I have ever seen was on a TV so I guess I was watching the show from a different prespective than you guys. I loved it. I can't wait to see another episode.:)

I think its great recognition af rockcrawling and eventhough it may not have been the best event or the best coverage, if we show positive support for it they might show more events and have better coverage. Just look at Supercross and Motocross for instance. A lot of people showed support for it and now ESPN2 shows every Supercross and Motocross event and they have good coverage for the races, too. I think if anyone wants to see more rockcrawling on tv then we all need to do what gordon said and send some positive messages to ESPN2.
