Anyone know a good source for weather stripping on the older bi-fold up doors? Specifically the W/S that is located on the top and bottoms of each door. None of the places I know have anything like it.:skull:

I must be screwed if not a single cruiserhead has a source for this?

I was looking for the same thing a while ago and came up empty.

I plan to try and match the profile to some generic stuff from JCWhitney.

last time I looked at the bi-fold on my 65 I seemed to think some generic stuff would work, dont recall any if the WS had much detail to it.........but as I am selling my 65........I don't care anymore :D

I have been looking for that weather stripping for years.I havn't found any generic stuff that would come close.I got some pipe insulation for 3/4" pipe. Not the styrafoam kind but the type that is like roll bar padding. It will have an adhisive strip on one side of the cut. Just cut 1/2 to 3/4" strip out and use 3M adhisive on the other side.Mine has held up for 4 years now, and it dosn't look bad

Still looking for a source for the rear sliding glass rubber trim/seal on Fj45 with non removable top. To my knowledge it doesn't exist anywhere, if anyone knows different, let me know please. Luke

Thats a great idea, I'll have to go to Lowes and see what they have.
I didn't think I would be able to find the original type weatherstripping, but its worth a shot. Thanks!

A couple of the weatherstrips in the Whitney catalog look like they would come close, but I have never bothered to try.

If Chef's connection has the ability to make bug catcher windwing weatherstrips, maybe he can make these too?

I stumbled on this and was just curious if there was any news? This may be a project that I could take on after the Bug Catchers are done. How many would be interested in the bi-folding door weatherstripping?

No news on my part. Still trying to find something that will work. SInce winter is full on here, I will procede when it warms up.
If it can be maufactured at a reasonable price I would be interested.

Robert,

I'd be interested in repro bi-fold door weatherstrip. At least a couple of sets.

Hey Guys,

I got the bug in my ear about these again and had a really good idea. Why not weld a piece of sheet metal over the channel and then use a very available "D" type extrusion?

I used some heater hose in mine. Shoved it down into the channel, and left the other part stick out. Worked good enough for me.

Thread back from the dead!

Never did find anything suitable too work.
I temporarily used some pipe insulation foam cut down to put in the seam, this is until I can devise a more permanent fix tis summer. The best solution I have came up with was to do what 62FJ40 mentioned, weld some sheetmetal to eliminate the gaps and use a modified piece of D or round channel foam.
Other than that, unless a NOS weatherstripping can be found or reproduced, not too much in the way of options.
