okay, i wanna do a spring over on my 94 YJ with full width dana 60's, but i also want to extend my wheelbase. if i use 2" springs, will i have clearance problems with the gas tank? this is assuming i move the rear axle back maybe 2 inches- probably by using offset waggy springs. i would be willing to raise the gas tank, but i dont really want to go through the floor. will this be necessary? oh ya- i have a 2 inch body lift. thanks!

I had my D44 moved back about 1 1/2" w/ 2 1/2" lift springs SOA. It was real close to the tank skid plate, but never touched it. Also 2" body lift. My gas tank developed a leak, so I am replacing it and making a new skid plate. I am moving the tank up about 2 1/2" just below the body. Putting Rancho 44044's and gonna move the axle back another inch or so. I dont have it all together yet, but from my measurements it should clear. Granted my D44 is smaller than the pumpkin on that 60, but you should be fine. I will know for sure in about a week when my springs get here and I weld all the sheot together. I'll report back.

I solved those issues by taking the tank out and putting fuel cell in the tub.

I moved my 9" back 2" and had contact problems with the tank. I wasn't running shocks at the time and that may contributed. I just raised the tank up 2" to help alleviate the problem. I hope it works out.

Looking at roughly the same setup, RC D-60, SOA Waggy springs, axle back 3"
I went with a 20 gal fuel cell. Why chance it? With it mounted 4" above floor and 6" under, I gained about 9" of ground clearance and another 5 gal capacity. Hard to beat for around 350 with plumbing and all.
