: can't get axleshaft out of 97 D44 front end

I have the darn thing all unbolted, can't figure out how to get it apart... what do I do now?

Get you a big prybar and pry it apart at the parting line that is visible in the first picture. you will have to work your way around it.

buy 3 bolts that are the same thread as the ones holding the bearing hub on, get them about 1/2 longer. thread them into the holes and then beat onto these bolts with a hammer, just keep goin around until it pops out.

if ya already got it already, this'll just be something useful for next time

I had to do the "three bolt deal" on my axle brg. unit.

Didn't see if your unitized spindle/bearing was off yet. Do you have the disconnect axle? (vacuum pod on pass side)

If so, look for a C-clip inside the pumpkin holding the shaft in.

There are no c-clips on the fron axle. The unit bearing holds the shafts in place.
