OldScout - have you seen this thread?

Know anyone with an old 392 intake lying around for cheap? (do cheap old Hemi parts even exist?)
Some adapting shims.... and one of these

or even one of these

could really wake my 304 up...
The reg'lar 4bbl would be fine I think. :D
I'm wondering about how closely the bolt holes match (or how far apart they don't) and size mix-match between the Hemi port and a square 304 port or rectangular 345/392 port..
Not that *I* have the resources to make something like this happen.. but maybe someone else does..
BBThread:
Here's a pic of a 392 intake. Yep, 392 chry hemi. $275 brand new. [:)]
I called the company. The front-to-back stagger is correct & the intake ports at ~4.5" CL is also correct. I also got a ~12-3/16" width which is w/in a 304's ~12-7/8" width. [8)]
Height is ~5-3/4" setting on a table. Not as tall as it looks.
Here's the thought: Adapter plates. I recently saw a web site that had plates for certain applications. Can't find it now. It didn't have IH, so ... (it was either the turbo sites or the EFI, but ???)
Since the CL on the runners is the same, half the work is done, IMO. The other 1/2, t-stat housing, might be dealt w/by coming out the back of the heads (as I mentioned to Justin) & routing that to a t-stat controlled return line to the rad. [;)]
I know, but that t-stat housing is going to be a bear to fab up where it is. [:\]
Here's the manifold:
