Can a carrier out of a d30 low pinion fit in a d30 high pinion?

It should as long as it is a 3 series carrier like 3.54 and such. A 4.10-up won't work. I could be wrong but this is the way it works on 44's and 60's so I doubt that the 30's have a special carrier.

I have a 4.56 r&p for it.
I didn't think on d30's you had to change the carrier to go to 4.56's from stock.

The carrier break on D30 is between 3.55 and 3.73 so if you have a carrier that was used with 3.73, 4.10, etc. or lower then you should be OK.
