I have some Rancho 9012 shocks for my coil sprung lancruiser.
Just curious as to what position people generally mount them in, meaning how much stuff/droop.
Thanks

On a coil setup, I would use bumpstops to limit my uptravel so I could maximize the length of the coils and the 9012's for more droop.
In other words, mount them where you have 1/3 up and 2/3 down.
Use bumpstops and limiting straps.
Too many TJ guys I wheel with use their shocks as their limiting staps and here is an axample of what often happens

At the moment I have them set up at about 4.5inches of stuff the rest droop.
I am making some new mounts and thought I may change it around a little, thats all.
My coils are only captive at the top and seperate away from the bottom mount at full droop. I have made up a little cone that guides the spring back into position.
I second the idea of using limiting straps with coils if you have more droop than the shock can handle.

I would be interested in learning or seeing how others have set up their front shock mounts for use with 9012s. I need to get some new ideas (i.e., I don't want to use Ford towers).
