Mounting the shackle through the frame on a SII. I need to know what size tube (ID) will fit prothane SII spring bushings. I don't have the parts here to measure and I want to buy the tube tomorrow.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't 1 3/16" = 1.188"? 1.14 seems a little small to me even if they make it on the high side of tolerance.

I get 1.5" OD x 1 3/16" ID ~ its a special order thing for me. I have to buy it by the length, a little more expensive but its right on. :D

No it's .1875 :p It's called a tight fit, less slop.

Ya 1.140 +/- .004" is a REAL tight fit, like shaving .020" off each side of the bushing tight. You must chuck the bushing into your drill press and take sand paper to it until it's shaved down exactly! :smokin: ~ I mean, if you just use a bench grinder, you could over-do the shaving and then we'd have to find 1.250" ID DOM to sleave the 1.140 DOM with   :shaking:

The DOM I get is tight as well ~ so tight that if I leave the cutting bur on it, the bushing won't fit ~ so I take a wire-wheel mounted on my bench grinder to it and then its a 'push-it-in-with-the-help-of-a-rubber-mallet-for-the-last-1/2"' tight fit. :grinpimp: :grinpimp:

No you had the 1.00" part right!

BTW a 1" NPT pipe coupler works just as well.

Hey OS ~ I'm thinking my machinist can bore out your tube to 1.1875 ~ since I doubt any metal supplier can get it to that :D

For the record, Putting bushings in the frame is :rainbow: Just use a 1 3/16" bolt and call it heavy duty. :grinpimp:

Machinist?? I don't know if your just dense or just trying to act tough, but you could open up the 0.040 with a $12.00 brake hone and a drill in 10 minutes!
