I ran across a set of Dana 70 axles, drum brake, 4:56 gear, Powerlock front and rear, recent brakes.
Wondering what the worth of this set is?
Drum brakes for wheeling?

Hell the rears are free:

and a closed front sucks. So not much! :flipoff2:

The powerlocks could be worth some cash. Also, I have seen D70 rears go for more than that before, I don't think that is typical. They are slightly stronger than a 14 bolt.

The rears around here usually bring more than your average 14 bolt. I wouldn't mind having a 70 rear, that way i could gear it lower than my current 14 bolt. 5.13

I took a closed knuckle 70, narrowed it 7 1/2". Retubed one side to center the diff and installed 35 spline u-joint axles. Rear stear for my truck. If you put a pound or 2 of air to it , you can positive pressure the whole rear end all the way out to the hub flanges. No water is getting in. :D

One way to make a closed knuckle a lot better. Still weighs a shit-load though.

Also, IIRC, all 70HDs have a 2 piece carrier, so that the Detroit Locker for it is cheap, like the 14 bolt. Around $350 or so.
