I've done a SFA SOA on my ZR2 S-10 :D.

The biggest tire for now is a 35x12.

Should I get one set of say, BFG M/T's that are ok on the road and trail

or....

two sets of wheels, one with kind, tender tread, and some swampers or something to that effect and change them when I go to a trail?

Having a second vehicle isn't in my scheme of things even though I know I should. I know the nice tires will be kinder on my suspension on the road so I won't have to replace $$$hit all the time. And I don't plan on entering any rock crawling competitions either.

Also for a 12.5" wide tire, should I stay w/8" rims or go 10"? I've heard that with the 8" the tire has a tighter fit and stays on the rim a little better.

I know I'm probably going to get newbie flack, so fire away.:flipoff2:

If you can afford it, two sets of tires is best. Get Swampers on black rockcrawler rims with a small backspacing (get the tires out a bit), and some high-milage street tires on nice rims with a lot of backspacing, to keep the tires in the wells more. They'll look better, give better steering on the road, and prevent Mr. Officer from bugging you.

8 inch rims for the trail tires, 10 for the street tires.

yeah you can get 35" street tires for $100 and even half that used.

Another question though??? is buying used a good idea? only because of balancing and out of round issues???
