Anybody know what rear end came in a 79 Dodge Van Sport?? Full size 1 ton van. Full float rear end, offset to passenger side. Looks to be a dana 60 but I thought that is way to go to be true.

Can anyone confirm?

95% sure, it's a 60.

I pulled my D60 out of a 78 Ford 1ton van, while looking around there were also several Dodges with the exact same rear end. It should say on top of housing what it is. I still had to have it cut down and get custom axles for it.

The 60 was there. Just seemed to good to be true that there was an offset Dana 60 in the back of that thing.

I have no intentions of cutting it down. :D:D:D I got the front dana 60 to match. And in a few weeks, I will be "Broken Pinion boy" no more!:D

Thats  .
I've been looking for a good deal on a frt D60 for awhile now, to replace my HD44 but there rarely under $800.
I know there is a few junk yards up in youre area. I never realy got a chance to go to any of them. Do they have alot of 1ton parts? Are they priced reasonably?
Down here everything is picked through.
Theres these guys that run from salvage yard to salvage yard, buying anything thats worth anything. Then turn around and sell to bigger wrecking yards for a profit. It would'nt be so bad, but the people runing these salvage yards. Holds on to the good stuff, then calls these guys out to get the parts. Realy screwy shiot if ask me. If not to big of trouble, if you see a frt D60 in a yard up there email me.

I'll make a trip out of it and do some wheelin.

Rear D60s are everywhere. Most, if not all, 3/4 and 1 ton vans have an offset rear D60. The "60" will usually be in the lower right hand webbing as viewed from the diff cover.

I am glad that someone shares my excitment. I knew it was a 60 but being offset to the passenger side was just to go to be true. :D:D

I am actually planning on running a completely different drivetrain, so if you want I can keep my eyes open for an offset 60 at the yards around here.

I am hoping to run, 350, SM465, NP205 and dana 60's front and rear in my cruiser. Which means my current drivetrain will be up for sale too. F motor, SM420 trans, 3 speed case, and front and rear axles.

I saw a few at pic n pull, and a few in a couple yards in Reno. Prices varied between $100 to $300 and that depends on how well you know the guy at the yard. :D:D:D So when you're ready let me know.
