Well I went out last weekend to do Tellico's upper 2. About half way up a strange thing happened, I blew out a stub shaft. Which although doesent seem like it would be that uncommon on a front 44 when your running 38.5s, but what did seem strange to me is the way it broke. It did not take out the U-joint or the Hub fuse (hell I have been wheeling a year on the warn hub fuses and still havent broken one). Anyhow, here are some pics of the break, I think there was an internal bubble in the steel right where it broke, let me know what ya think.

Take out the .jpg in your image. Webshots works fine when you do this!

looks like they are just old azz shafts that eventually worked themselves to be the weak link

Looks like it`s mabe been developing a crack for some time due to the rust or stains in between the shiny areas.

I am like the rest. Unless the shaft got wet after you broke it looks like it has been working on breaking for some time..
