Realizing most dont go to the wanted section I will put it here too. My 66 FJ40 has a bad motor and I need a new one. I am in southern oregon and come down to Sacramento area and other parts of northern and central CA often so picking it up should not be a problem if you are with in 3 or 400 miles. Thanks

Did you try Tim over at LC Specialties in Hillsboro. It looked like he had quite a few there. No idea on price. Just a thought.

Not sure if you are looking for rebuilt or used but a friend of mine has a F motor he pulled from a 69 FJ40 to do a SBC swap. The motor ran when pulled although it burned oil. I think the motor is free. Located in Roseville. Let me know if you want more info.

I shipped a complete F motor from Austin to Denver for $170 using Foward Air. 750lbs. So shipping one is no big deal.

I have one sitting in my 69 up here in Portland. One of the Cascade Cruisers was thinking about taking it (for a spare) in part of the trade we did on a bunch of stuff. If he decides he does not need it, its cheep and is sporting a new clutch assembly already in it.

EDIT: I just got an e-mail back from him on this, he still wants the motor. I suggest you post this up on the Cascade Cruisers BBS. I know in the last year there have been a few "please come and take this thing" ads for F motors. Research those ads and e-mail the people who got them. I think most are sitting as back ups and not being used.

Also Cruisin' the Woods is the 25th of this month. Put the word out on the LCML you are looking for the motor you might find somone driving up to the event that can bring it with them. (Done this before...3F block...Mace!)

Pulled the one out of my 66 for a 2F swap. Ran decent, #5 a bit low on compression but not blowing smoke. It's been in good dry storage for about 8-12 mos. near as I recall. Tranny and bellhousing included. $100 you pick up in north central WA.
