OK, I know this pic does not look like much, but this lil' hill is quite long and steeper then it looks (usual camera angle issue). It's got just the right amount of lose rock and lose dirt to not provide traction. The nice touch is the slimy log step up to finish it off. What you cannot see on this pic is a boulder garden about 2 feet past the log.
This log has claimed my rear easy locker :shaking: as I was trying to fly up that hill, over the log and hump the log...

I didn't wheel too much this year, got burned out on working on the rig and wheeling a lot last fall.
Here's one from the spring in Slade Ky

SilverZuk
08-30-2004, 09:24 AM
Another from Slade on Carb hill.
The hill was very muddy that day and the radial got rejected on this ledge, so I tried to drive around the tree with 2 wheels on ledge and 2 off. I made it past the tree and laid it over.

SilverZuk
08-30-2004, 09:25 AM
This is the hill before the ledge.

SilverZuk
08-30-2004, 09:27 AM
This is the hardest part (after the ledge).
My lack of tires and wheelspeed required me to winch it.

They got some good video of me on widow maker, but it never made it to the net.

SilverZuk
08-30-2004, 09:30 AM
This is me starting to 2-wheel it off the ramp.
There was a video link, but it got canned because the traffic was causing problems Krawler's web site.

We were trying to beat JRT's record of 29-feet. The longest run I made on two wheels was about 15-20 feet. This one was a mercy roll, because I knew the crowd wouldn't let me quit until I flopped.
That is Del Taco in the passnger's seat along for the ride.
I told him "hang on, I'm going to roll it this time." then augered us into the ground about 10-feet later.

Pic 1 is the take off

After that I let Del jump in and take it for a roll.
I told him "hop in and roll it"
He said, "Are you serious?"
I said. "Take off, it's not like it hasn't been rolled 20 times before"

Let's just say I installed my cage the very next weekend.I was crawling threw the rocks and front tire bounced off the first rock while I punched it to the floor. Got the rear wheel jamed between a few rocks and my 3 link just torqued it up. I sat there for about 4 - 5 minutes while it was being filmed and got a few nice shots.

Got a nice big shot from BillJohn.. need them from the rest of you if everyone else wants a calendar, should be $9.95 each plus S&H.. I'm making nada on these, thats what the site charges. Send them to: dough-boy@sbcglobal.net to be included. Trucks included depend on who submits what. I'll let everyone know who's included in about a week. Send a couple if possible, the best 12 will be in there. Files need to be larger than 640x480..

EDIT: This was the correct price at time of post, but as of 10/2/04 @ 9:49PM PST the price has jumped to $19.99 each plus S&H unless we have a prepaid order of 50 or more, in which case it drops to $11.88 each.

I'll post them up in a week or so for everyone to vote on what they want to see in the calendar, that way its not subjective to my personal preference... As I'll probably be making a "I wish I could wheel in Guam" calendar on its own that I can drool over for the next year. Keep them coming, we're going to have one nice calendar for 2005!
Again.. send pics to: Dough-boy@sbcglobal.net and I'll start posting for the vote next week.

Still need shots of: JeepPartz, SilverZuk, BillJ, HZJ60Guy and his vest Grimbo, Killr-B, Smitty808 and anyone else with good, CLEAR action shots in the larger resolutions.
We almost have enough different shots to make a good calendar, and it would be nice to have a different rig each month.. Again.. send pics to: Dough-boy@sbcglobal.net so everyone can stare at your rig for a month in 2005!

Stock for stock nothing will take a beating better than a sammy.......period. I have owned an EB, cj5s ,7s, scout, blazers and they never came close to the off road reliability of my sammy. I used to go to Tellico in the Jeeps and come back with a good months work repairing every thing from broken frames, axles and steering. My last trip to Tellico I rode every trail in my sammy and only had to top off the fluids because I rolled it.

My Zuk is a driver not a trailer rig, and I drive it to Tellico 4.5hrs away, Winrock 4 hrs away, etc... with no moments notice... I trust it to get me there and back, and I wheel the hell out of it as well... Stock 1.3, No high range reduction, and 4.10's push 37's down the highway with a little struggle, but I do get there, use no oil, and drive home at the end of the trip.... My Honda would be another story in itself... Im trusting the zuk to drive to moab next summer... Hell, Tim Hardy drives his across country right?

I drove mine from Elizabethton to Tellico twice. Stock 1.3, lockers, and 33" swampers. I rolled it at the Dixie run three years ago and had to drive home with no windshield in the pelting rain. Also it took me almost 7 hours driving the zuk and I can get in my truck pulling a gooseneck trailer in 3.5. So needless to say i just tow now

I was practicing 2 wheel by hitting a small bump while turning sharp... I did it 4 or 5 time each time longer... Last time I tried I had to conter steer a lot and I was going to hit the Rubicon, so I braked hard and rolled :(

Trying out the new Home Brew IFS suspension and 34's on the hill climb. Getting ready to tuck and roll. Hard to show the hill in the pic. Staring at the passenger rear wheel and looking at the trees helps to gain some prespective.
Now to revise the rear links and avoid that tire lifting issue.
