Looking at his SYE kit...He cut's and resplines the stock 231 shaft on the kits I've seen. Can anyone tell me if he resplines the shaft to 26 or 27? If 27, would you have a Spicer part # for the yoke?
Thanks, Thom
I've done a search on this board...:rasta:

he resplines them to a 27 spline type - same as a stock output- and runs the same type of flange system as rubicon express - its a welded flange (i hope he's not weling cast iron to steel) - and if its a money thing then go for it- its the cheaper way to do it- other wise if your going to pull the case then spend a few more bucks and go for the 231 short shaft kit 32 spline with the new output- its just better- Jess

Jess, thanks. I was at your page last night...

I have a 96 231 J (XJ) I was going to have my output cut and resplined, so I could use a Spicer 1310 CV housing...that's why I was wondering if he used a front 26 spline yoke...I'll try to find a Spicer catalog and the 27 spline yoke(early 10 bolt?)...I'm a do it yourself mooch.

Do you sell just the 32 spline shaft, and will it use the stock 96 speedo housing with a larger bearing, seal and 229 yoke?

TIA, Thom

thom - i understand your point there- i sell the 231 kit alone for 289.00 but not just the output shaft alone- there is a 27 spline end yoke c/v style 1310 but its actually custom made from a slip yoke c/v - i have these 79.00 you machine - Jess

Knock out the cap and machine out part of the splines...Thanks Jess, I now have that option, wich is more than I had yesterday:beer:

Thanks, Thom

Now if I could only win that drive shaft this month...LOL

Thanks again

be careful i think they may have changed the seal dimension also - cuasing a slight problem for leaks- not! i think there may be a differnce there also and you may have to cap the slip yoke and then cut it down and counter boar it also- Jess , good luck

Been checking on the HD shaft, I,m thinking 241D, but no one wants to say...I understand, for people in the biz, knowledge=$

Jess, thanks again for taking your time...Thom:beer:
