my tank was replaced by the dealer in 93 and it's pretty damn rusty; bad enough that the sending unit is rusted solid at the low position. anybody have a fj60 tank they want to part with? need with sending unit and pickup tubes; they're wasted too.

Georg
A buddy of mine has a brand new one. He just got his replaced from the dealer and then bought my long range tank.
I sent him your information,
Should cut you a good deal.

Gotta love those long range tanks... I replaced my rust-bucket, err, gas tank with one... Carries as much fuel as my Suburban! :D
Gee! How many posts until I'm not a Newbie!

Georg,
I have a tank, that you can have. It's in Holllister, and all you have to do is come get it. You'll have to take the tank, the fuel, and everything. But it's FREE!!!! and everything works.

hey patman!
thanks for the offer! does your tank need any work or is it ready to go? and rust? don't mean to sound picky and all, would love to come pick it up this weekend if that's cool with you.

Let me get this straight... your tank was replaced
in '93. Nine years later, and it is RUSTING OUT.... and
you live in Central California? Whatcha doing, running
though the cattle farms? ;-)
I grew up in Sacramento, and remember those long
drives down Highway 99 past the cattle farms. Long
before I-5 was built! ;-)
Sounds like you got a sweet deal on a "new" tank. Otherwise
carry a bar of ivory soap for those holes (grate it against the
tank, the shavings will fill the hole. Oh, it is only meant to get
you home, btw).

got another tank on wednesday night at andy's!( thanks again for the dinner).
i had bought the rig about 6 months ago after it sat on a ranch for 5 or 6 years with very little fuel in the tank. i was pretty amazed at how much rust was in the tank. :rasta:

thats the price one pays for running a tank half full and under on a consistent basis. My theory was always that ultimately you will use the same amount of gas whether or not its run below half and filled when empty---or above half and filled when it drops below half tank. Its just one of those options will lead to quicker tank rust.
