I'm finishing my saginaw conversion and want to ask what length
and drop I should look for. Will have shackle reversal and 2 1/2''
springs for a total of approx. 4" of lift. Thx

That all depends on how your steering linkages are set up. What is the vertical distance between your tie rod and steering box? Is your steering box rotated up? You want your drag link and pitman arm to be as parallel as possible. Are you SUA with BTB style shackle reversal?

Here is a pic of mine with a SR and stock springs.....2" drop pitman arm

MAF shackel reversal and 2 1/2'' springs, box pointing
up slightly, SUA.

How much drop on the '94 and later Cherokee arm?

Thats a great question.........

I think in most cases of steering swaps, it is a matter of trying a few arms and going for the one which best fits your particular application. I have a 4" lift, front shackles and an AGR box mounted flush to the front crossmember.

The Grand Cherokee arm has about a 3.75" drop and works well for my app.

Hit a junk yard, buy a few boxes(most come with pitman arms) and remove them( a big PITA without the smoke wrench) and try your luck.

I have heard of a few guys mocking up arms out of an easily workable material, mounting their draglink to them to verify bumpsteer and so forth, then trying to find the right arm.

If you look at my write up, you will see that I mention the various drops of the Jeep pitman arms.

YJ - 2"
XJ - 3"
ZJ - 4"

I tried an XJ (classic Cherokee) at first but my drag link went below the tie rod so I swapped it out for the YJ arm. These arms are about 5.75" long.

Thanks for the info guys, had a line on a 1.25'' drop for cheap
but didn't think that was enough for the lift I have.

Boxes must be cheaper in your neck of the woods than sunny Az
Rugburn, POS ones start at $50 bucks here. Too much $$ to lay out then take a smoke wrench too:)
