i have a 95' yj and just put a 4" lift on it. not that i think thats the problem, anyway. i have been hearing a growling noise from somewhere in my front end and when i put it in 4h and turn it binds up. stopping the jeep. does anyone have a clue for me as to what is up?

I don't know what to tell you. I'd check your steering linkage, tie rods, and u joints. I'd systemmaticly check everything out under there.
Good luck
Nick

yeah checking everything would be a good idea. That is odd never heard of the front driveshaft binding on a 4 inch lift. my YJ does not have a problem with it.

Check you rubber lines as well. I knew a guy that when he turned hard it would collaps the line from the pressure and apply the brake

Are you locked in the front? Are you doing this on blacktop or concrete? If you are locked and make a hard left turn on blacktop or concrete it will bind. The left axle doesn't disconnect from the differential like the passenger side does and at slow speeds the locker doesn't always unlock.
