ive been serching for ideas on a better steering set up for my d30 and am thinking of using spherical joints and rold steal tubing. My question is when you drill the steering knuckle what keeps the bolt from elongating the whole and making it loose? I need something strong but cheap.

The torque on the bolt....if you use grade 8 bolts, 5/8" or larger, you'll be able to but 100+ lb/ft on it. It's not gonna wiggle.
