The water does push us downstream a bit, so we need to
point up-river a little to compensate, but the weight of the
vehicle is enough to provide traction on the rocky-gravelly bottom.
If the bottom was mud, however, we probably WOULD be swept
downstream.

My snorkel has worked fine in water that deep. However, I have DOORS. So it takes a while for water to find it's way in. ;)

It's the part where you have to repack your bearings that sucks.
