Any one know if the Edelbrock kit will work with any Q-jet? Basicly do all the models (or at least the large CFM truck carbs) use the same jets and metering rods? If so it would be nice to have a selection of parts on hand to tune the carb sitting on my truck now.

well Edelbrock "Q-Jet" is a "BRAND NEW CARB" so some of the .001 type measurements may be different. But I suppose it mostly contains parts for rejetting and such so a .70 jet can't be a .65 jet just cause it's made by a different company. Maybe it'd be worth a shot.

They all use the same style of metering rods and jets, but the rods do vary from year-to-year, and the jets can be different sizes. So long as you didn't just swap out one rod or jet at a time (like anyone would  ) you should be OK, just make sure you compare the stuff and see that they are similar (IE: the Edlebrock rod isn't 1/4" longer/shorter than the OEM rod)
