i have an 84 tbi 302 or 5.0 out of a grand marquis car i need to put a manual flywheel on it how do i tell what fly wheel i need i have a fly wheel off of an 80 ford truck with a 4.9 in it not sure what balance it is though any help would be appreciated

The 4.9 flywheel is a zero balance so it won't work. You will need to find a flywheel from an 84 or newer. Ford changed the balance of their 302's in the early 80's and i'm not sure which year, i've heard anything from 80 to about 84, but your best bet is to find an 84 or newer with the flywheel you need and go with that.

You need a 50oz balance flywheel. What I did was have mine matched balanced (from a 73 F100 2wd) so I could use the old style manual clutch that was 11" instead of the 10.5".
