: Hub rattle?

I seem to have developed a rattle in my Superwinch manual hubz (about six months old). I took them apart, and everything seems to be in place (springs, c-clip etc...). Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon, and if so, is there a fix available? Thanx for any help-

Every person I know with Superwinch hubs has a problem with the bolts backing out slowly. When you took them apart were all the bolts tight, the six connecting to the hub flange (not sure of the actual name), not the dial cap. Also, possibly the bearings  , any play in the wheel, Left-to-Right, Up-and-Down.

Just tossing out some suggestions

dafish-
Thank you for the reply. No, the bolts are all snug, and my wheel bearings (and lugs)are also tight. I'm really baffled cuz, they both seem to be making this noise (rattle). Oh yeah-When in 4X & locked, rattle seems to go away.?? Any other ideas?

Is your rattle on both side or just one? Did you check the CV joints to make sure you didn't break one of those?

I have the AISIN manual hubs and my friend has the Super winch hubs. we both have the problem of the inner bolts backing out, but the out ones hold tight. It is better the outer ones hold because they hold the inner ones in. I just make it a habbit to always check them when I get out of my VX or before, during, and after offroading.

Not sure why yours are rattling, have you grease them a little??? mabe the parts are dry and clattering.

Steve-
Yeah-CV's are also in good shape. The mystery rattle is coming from both sides. At first I thought it was coming from just the driver's side, but after further inspection I realized both sides were making the same sound. :( Thanx again for the ideas guys.

just throughing this out but theres a washer on the back side of the knuckle. On my LUV one of those got munched so when the suspension flexed the cvs ran into them and made a nice rattle and then it progresed into a grind. But mine got worse when the front axle was moving.
