are the spindles on a Scout 44 front identical to the spindles on a CJ Dana 30 front?

Nope, not even similar. Why?

Well, because I have a 44 front with CJ outers, and I am trying to figure out how to do high steer without swapping everything from the knuckle out.

and since my setup uses a scout stub axle, I figured that might be the same

I see. Probably a good time to just swap knuckles and everything out. You probably don't want to waste the time and money doing hi-steer on 30 outers.

Yes, the only difference is the Scout 44 spindle uses 8 bolts and the Jeep 30 uses 6 bolts. The Scout 44 and Jeep 30 both use a 27 spline outer axle but different U-joints; Scout uses a 297 and Jeep the smaller 260 joint.

If you're just going to hi-steer I'm assuming you're changing the knuckles out. Now if you already have Dana 30 outers on a 44 knuckle, why not swap them onto the new knuckles for hi-steer?

thats what i'm going to do. Im gonna use chevy flattops, and my outers will all bolt up. I was just trying to figure out the spindle bolt pattern.

I have f250 flat top knuckles (8-bolt) with scout spindles, CJ hubs (warn conversion) and rotors, with chevy calipers. I also have the warn 30 spline stub axles.
