Ya know what???? I think mine are sagging too:mad:
The rear drivers side. I haven't measured yet to verify but it looks a little off. I'll check and see how much next time I see my cruiser.
Did yours sag slowly or all at once?
If enough people have complaints it seems that something could be done to remedy the situation.

Does anyone else have Downey Springs?
Have you had problems with them or are they OK? How long have you had them?

I have a Downey lift kit on my '95 Tacoma. Same thing - sags about an inch to inch and a half on the drivers side.
Sag started about 3 months after I put it on. It's been that way for 3 years now. Bugs the hell out of me.
Typical Downey.

Jimmy hit the nail on the head. My FJ40 was leaning as well (on Skyjacker springs). About two years ago I fabbed up some LCAH style spring plates, and while I had the truck apart, switched the springs side-to-side. My FJ sat level for a few days, and was back to its leaning ways a few weeks later. Sucks, but oh well.

Cruiser Lean is not just related to the spare tire. That doesn't weigh enough to make it lean all by itself. If you look at the stock drivetrain, it is offset to the left side by 3.5" which usually causes the left side to always sag. It does make it worse when you have a spare on the left side as well (like I do.....sucky). It is really an unsolved mystery of why Cruisers lean to one side or the other.

good point but that looks to extreme to be just a little typical
cruiser lean!! Every cruiser i have ever owned has had a little lean but no matter what the lift is never that much???????

As we all know, Cruisers were designed as right hand drive vehicles. Most of the motor, running gear, fuel tank, spare, ect were put on the left side wich offset the drivers weight. Now you add our fat American asses to the left and you got "Cruiser Lean"
At least that's how I heard it;)

Downy said the tire may be the problem. First of all it was sagging BEFORE I built mt tire rack! I guess the ten gallons of gas on the other side which out weighs the tire makes no differerence! When I called doweny thay said thay sold hundreds of these spring, and Im the only one that has reported a problem.WOW! Comon downey pull your head out!

I don't think which side the spare tire is on will determine which way it leans. Mine is a '71 with the spare on the passenger side. With my Downey springs it leans a little towards the drivers side. If it gets worse I'll call and at least let them know that more than just one or two people have been having problems. Not that it will do any good but I'd like to vent on them.

HAHAHA Exactly, I even tried swapping my springs around (Driver for passenger) and it eventually started leaning again. To the drivers side. What a crock. Oh well, Chevy springs on the way.....:D:D:D
