The tranny side has the 4 holes and the T-case side has 6 holes with a dowel pin.
I can get more pix if you need.
Thanks
James
ksbronco 09-15-2004, 03:07 PM I don't know what is up with the shaft laying next to it, but the 4 bolts and the 6 with a dowel sounds pretty standard. should fit any ford full size case. Does the tranny have 32 spline male output shaft?
saf-t scissors 09-15-2004, 03:55 PM Maybe... but WTF is the speedo port for if it's a 4wd?
Um... is it the Dana 21 pattern?

Because in ford 4x4's the speedo gear goes in the t-case instead of the tranny.
lentzOUTLAWZ4x4 09-15-2004, 05:44 PM thats what he was saying dumbshat!
Never seen that adapter before but the bolt patterns sound like your standard
t18,435-np205,np203 style bolt holes.
The output shaft is 32 spline. So will the 205 and 203 fit on there ? Is the crazy spud shaft with the large tooth, the same pattern as the 203/205's
Thanks for the help fella's
CHOPPEDBII 09-15-2004, 09:45 PM that looks like a D21 adaptor. if that is what it is the 205 will not bolt to it.
ksbronco 09-16-2004, 08:48 AM No, 203/205s never had that little shaft, forgot about the D21, we had one and never even took it apart, we traded it someone who thought they wanted one.
IS the D21 the single speed t-case ?
Hoxviii 09-16-2004, 10:48 AM Need a picture of the round bolt pattern to be sure, but if the part that bolts to the tranny is a square pattern and the part that bolts to the tcase is ~6" dia, then it's a D21 adaptor.

Nobody 09-16-2004, 11:18 AM Looks like a Dana 21 adapter to me. The Dana 21 is a single speed case which accounts for the speedo gear location.
Pictures here.

Ok next question, is this thing worth any money ? and if a guy wanted to, would you be able to just use a different spud shaft.
Im thinking not, but thats why I consult the gurus.
Nobody 09-16-2004, 02:45 PM It's not worth it's weight in scrap. Sorry.
I'm aware of at least one person that has modified it to work with a Dana 20. It's quite a bit more involved than just swapping spud shafts. Notice in the pics where I lay the d20 gasket over the d21. Also the d21 lacks spud shaft bearing, which I don't like.
Hoxviii 09-16-2004, 03:30 PM and it won't bolt up to any of teh fullsize ford tcases.

CHOPPEDBII 09-16-2004, 08:16 PM you can get an adaptor off another NP435 and swap it in but the D21 adaptor has a square bolt patter off the tranny end so you need to make sure it has that same pattern. I can tell you that all the internals swap so don't just throw the tranny away. if you find an adaptor that will work you will need to break that tranny down and put the back half of the top shaft into the tranny you have now. even if the gears on the other tranny are bad the rear part of that top shaft is all you need.
I actually have the AA adapter with a D300 behind my 435 now. I would just like to know what the heck this one is from.
Heres the front and back
