Hay whats this wire for on this U joint when I took my old drive shatf out (2wd) it had the same wire runing across.
Whould it be a good thing. I still had the factory IH U joints :eek:

It makes you feel groovy all the day long. What do you think it does?? It is a cap retainer. Did you notice you couldn't remove those two caps? most brands of ujoints used to do that back in the day. Most no longer do it now. It's there so when you're screwing with the driveline you won't lose the caps.
