Pulling mine out tonight and gonna go through it. Any little quirks that I need to know about? I've rebuilt tranny's before, but never a 700.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

The only thing special we had to do was get a tool for the low reverse clutch spring pack to remove it.Other than that its the same as any other, clean area is most importante.......

I have a video for it. Seems pretty intense. If you have done others then you can probably do it, but there is a bunch of parts in there, so keep track of them all.

Good luck.

find a shop that is friendly to helping you do it youself. i found one here that is going to take out the low reverse for me and reinstall it with new seals plus clean my case for 20 bucks. then you could do the rest.

if you've never rebuilt an auto i would definetly not recommend trying a 700, but if you've done a few, give it a try. they have about twice as many parts as a 3 spd auto and are very grumpy so make sure you keep all the parts super clean. get yourself either a good instructional video or a "tech-manual". if you can't find the manual, let me know. i work for a trans parts distributor and we sell them, including any other parts you might need for the rebuild. good luck!;)

Thanks for all the help and input folks. I've got the thing dissassembled and clean, gonna start back into tonight. I've been using the Haynes repair manual. I highly recomend this book, it's not only step by step, but it is picture by picture. I'm feeling pretty good about this thing.
