Have any of you guys had problems with one of the engine coils getting wet from a/c condensation, thus causing the truck to run rough until you get above 1000 rpm? A friend of mines truck seems to be running rough until you get above 1000 rpm and the mechanic keeps telling him that the coil is getting wet from a/c condensation. I looked at it and there is an a/c line that runs directly over the coil they keep drying out. Ohh its on a 2001 x-cab 4wd with the 5.4L.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

cover the coil with a piece of black abs sheet plastic.

make a little roof out of the plastic to protect the coil from the rain.

but first take it off, and clean out the hole, including the plug.. chances are water/moisture got down there, and when he goes to replace the plugs, he's gunna take all the threads out of the head with it.. throw some antisieze on the plug and dielectric grease around the seal..
