:)
mud-magnet 01-31-2002, 08:07 AM some engine parts are the same, just like the small stuff mostly....... i don't know much about them but he said they're pretty much the same and thats why he hangs out on the zuki board......

I find it hard to believe - I'd need specific examples to believe it. Didn't the Niva start life as a Fiat? I might be confusing the lineage of the 4 door car though. The little four door car was Fiat that Lada bought the tooling for. Good little cars, we used to beat the shite out of them bashing through the woods in and around St. John's, NF. It wasn't a good day if you didn't have to walk home.
UZI 9mm 01-31-2002, 09:15 AM Ummmmm Lada Niva has parts that will interchange with Suzuki?
what, like some metric fasteners, or what?
sorry to sound skeptical, but i'd have to see it to believe it.
(Nivas are kinda cool, but ifs? i dunno...)

mud-magnet 01-31-2002, 10:10 AM they look all right yes, and i know ifs and thats why i don't like them but sidekicks have the same front susp.......

Actually, Sidekicks and Nivas have different IFS setups. The Niva uses a double A-arm setup similar to late model Toyotas and GMs, the Sidekick uses a modified MacPherson strut setup where the spring is not part of the strut configuration.
Sorry to pick nits... :)
Between the two, the Niva is the superior system. It controls the camber curve better when cornering.
mud-magnet 02-01-2002, 08:24 AM :flipoff2: still ifs.............:flipoff2:
mudlite 02-01-2002, 11:04 AM I think the comment on the ORC bbs was that some tech infor was the same between the Lada and Zuk, not parts. That they are close in size and ability.
I'm not sure what tech would cross the gap between IFS and leaf springs though?:flipoff2:
mud-magnet 02-01-2002, 06:44 PM ok john, time for you to go get your new high angel shaft............:flipoff2: ......congrats. man..........:D , i'm just a tad jelous, i read it and my heart stoped cause i saw mud... and canada...........lol.......
