... not nearly enough info man.

Shocks are to Jeeps like bras are to women. For every different Jeep, there is going to be a given shock length/setup that fits best.

I personally run rancho 9ks, but I haven't been really happy with em. This is the second set I have owned and just like the first set, the current ones have air in em. They are kinda inconsistent. I have heard good things about Bilstiens, and OME shocks (old man emu). I would look into a set of those since they are pretty much the same price as the 9ks and from what I have heard, they last a lot longer and work better.

I have a '98 TJ...stay away from deocrap shocks, the ones that came with my Rubicon lift lasted less than a 1000 miles at the rear. They puked all the fluid out. (I did have them mounted upside down, but thier tech people said that was okay to do for clearance) I've been running RS9000's for a few years and are very happy with them(but I just leave 'em at 2, kinda defeats the adj. feature) ...just leave the dash mount controls for the streetjeep people...air leak city:flipoff2:
what ever brand you want, stay away from gas-charged. Jeeps are too light, they'll be very firm. A buddy runs skyjacker cheapies, and they ride surprisingly well.

I didn't have any trouble with DT's leaking upside-down, but I snapped one and went to Skyjacker Hydros.... I had a feeling the gas ones would be too stiff, so I stayed away... I won't complain about the ride quality. They're a little stiffer than the DT's, but no biggy...

a good shock for a 3" lifted tj. Go with OME They are really an enduro style shock. a few guys in my club run them and they swear buy then.

Personally. shocks are over rated for rock-crawlin. at slow speeds they don't do much at all for the ride. the sway bar is what is working more.

If your rock crawling your swaybar shouldnt even be conected! and also I dont see why you would compare it to shocks?

I say you get what you pay for, personally I'm gonna pay for bilsteins cause I like to do highspeed stuff sometimes, and Rancho's can't handle a few passes through a mud pit without fading (no joking)

I wasn't comparing shocks to swaybars. just making a point of what is more improtant at slow speeds

seeing you have a chevota. :flipoff2: I wouldn't expect you to think about the swaybar. Leafsprings like yours. do perform more or less like a coilspring/swaybar combo.

bias between the stuffed wheel and the unweighted wheel is a good thing. It keeps equal vehicle weight on the tires. that inturn gives traction. for a TJ. the rear swaybar does a lot to keep this bias. as the rear end has about 40% of the total weight.

an example is a YJ last year with 1/4 elipt spings and an almost TJ with a mild lift. the 1/4 elipt yj kept its front wheels on the ground climbing a ledge. it strugled to get traction with the rear pushing with only one tire. while the TJ flexed more in the front and kept it's rear on the ground and climbed with little trouble at all.
