So i have a 454 with a TH400 and a D20 mounted to it(the D20 is mounted on the passanger side of the trans). The drive shaft that is missing should be connected to a D44 front axle with the diff on the passenger side. problem is previous owner got rid of the 4wd when they put in the new eng/trans. I would just replace the front drive shaft that is missing, but it appears that the shaft would not fit becasue of the pan on the trans. Any ideas on reviving the 4wd on this rig?
-My first inclination would be to get a custom shaft....sounds pricey/difficult..
-Next idea was to get a custom pan that might be able to get me a couple of inches clearance, not sure they even make a pan that could do this.
-get a different TC, like a np203/205 with an adapter(adapter should provide enough clearance). problem with this idea is it changes the location of the TC and might be toomuch of an angle for the shaft to connect to D44
So there is the dillemma, hopefully someone has some constructive feedback for me. thanks guys
