Ok, guys, i'm new to this list so I thought I might as well start in with questions :) The leaf springs in my 1992 Cherokee HO are pretty much horizontal now, and i'm having issues with rub cause i've got 31x10.5s in the back. I've heard several things as far as options to fix this problem, one such option is Re-arching. Is re-arching a reliable solution? is it cost effective? If I want to replace the entire spring pack, how much $ am i looking at? the jeep dealer in the area was of no help (of course), all they had to say was that there were 16 different leaf springs made for XJs (or something like that) and that he had no clue which ones i had. I then took the springs out to get Part#s only for them to reply that they didn't have any numbers like them in their books.
Should i re-arch? if i go after market springs, do i need to worry about them fitting correctly, or were all XJ rear springs the same measurements? and lastly, will my AAL work with something like OME leaf springs, or should i get lifted springs?

Sorry about pounding the questions, and the use(waste) of bandwidth, thanks.

RE-Arching = Short term solution
AAL = Rough Ride and No flex. Also can help a weak spring Fail
Aftermarket = GOOD

Like scott said re-arching is a short-term solution. An AAL will firm up your ride but is also a short-term solution and will end up sagging in a dead stock leaf pack. Just get a new aftermarket leaf pack from RE, it well worth it. BTW, don't mess around with blocks either.

I run National 8 leaf...stiff ride and great flex...before that I ran the RE adl.....worked just as well, where are your tires rubbing? Im thinking you may have to deep ofset in our rims.

There are several different styles of AAL's out there rough country and others use a short18" bottom AAL, which causes severe harsh ride and is prone to breakage due to stress put on that small bottom leaf....RE and others use a full length AAL which sets just under the main leaf....this set up is far superior better flex and ride

AAL = BAD (been there done that)
Aftermarket ....There are a ton out there
Rusty's (heard they sag)
Tomkin (Not heard allot about these)
National (here they have GREAT Flex but Pricey)
Tera (Heard some good locally about these)
RE (Everyone wants these but to pricey for me)
Big Offroad (dont know whos they use but the price is good)
CUSTOM ( go to local spring shop tell them what you want and watch them make them for you.....Not all spring shops will do this anymore for lift though do to liability)

Ya, put some aftermarket springs in the rear, shackles and sawzall it all and you'll have plenty of room:flipoff2:
