I found some used spindles on the web. The dude said they are K10 D44 spindles. I am not at all familar with Chevys. I know i need 1/2t chevy spindles to swap my D44 to 5x5.5 will these work? Is the K10 the 1/2 ton blazer, if so i nkow they will work. If it is the 3/4 ton will it still work. theya re off a 78 model. Would i be better off just machining down my waggy spindles to accept the ford bearing? I have a complete machine shop at my disposal. Thanks for any help.

I'n not 100% sure, but I believe that a '78 was a 10 bolt not a 44...but the 10 bolts used 44 outers anyways..Howver, this is the big spindle and you need the smaller spindle for the ford conversion. One thing that noone talks about though is using Dodge rotors/bearing hubs. I don't know which years, but some of them used the larger spindle.
I think the years that you are looking for are 74-77 for both the waggy's and the Chevy ones.

Thanks scott dude. When i searched, i found statements regarding mid 70's chevy spindles, i just wasnt sure exactly what years. Any idea how much these spindles would be new?
How much would it weaken the waggy spindles to have them machined to accept the ford bearings?
Chevy used the D44 and 10 bolt in the front from 77-81-ish, but they were mostly 10 bolts. I think they used what they had and if there was a 44, they threw it under whatever rig was next on the assy line. (I have an 81 Chevy D44 8 lug)
Anyway, you need to use the small spindles like everyone has said. I think in 77, all spindles went to the big bearing design. You need the small bearing design. Have the guy measure the OD of the inner bearing race on the spindle. I think the large bearing spindles have an OD of 1.8750" (at least my 73 3/4 ton spindles are). I think the later model big bearing spindles have and OD of 2.000"
I am looking at my Timkin book for the numbers, but I don't have the spec on the A37 bearing which is the small bore bearing needed for the 5 lug swap.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help! Thanks for the link jeepdaddy. Vista's site is great for the knuckle info. I already know where i can get the flat top knuckles, i just need to get past this spindle situation for the time being. Thanks again!
