Looking to throw a DC air compressor in my tow rig, basically something to fill tires, inflatable boat toys and whatnot. What old Caddys or Lincolns had DC air compressors to fill their air bagged suspension systems? And where were they on the car so I know where to look in the yard.

some cadi's have them under the hood behind the headlight, some are in the trunk. They do not produce enough volume to run anything except maybe an ARB or two.

There's an writup on 4x4wire.com in the toyota tech section, but 4x4wire is down right now.

10 bucks is a fair price for one.

Caddies and some big buicks or Oldmobile Delta 95s with an air ride suspension have them.

The best 12 volt compressor is a Suburban rear AC compressor it is electric and provides AC to the rear seats started as an option around 88 i think.

I take it this DC A/C compressor would be much more powerful then one for air ride suspension. Tricky part is going to be finding one in a bone yard, that's a fairly new item. Any idea how much one would be new?
